This Adams Cruising 10 was built by Paul Kelly of Carinya Yachts in 1983, as his personal yacht "Zig Zag". Paul entered the 1983 Sydney to Hobart and finished a very creditable 50th (PHS) out of 150. Renamed to Heart of Gold and refitted with a new engine and folding propeller, wheel steering, electric toilet & basin in separate head, pressure water and double berth in 2009. Specifications: HULL: GRP, laminated with Airex foam, and solid ring frames. Hull and deck joint epoxy glued and bolted. Coach house reinforced where winches are fitted. KEEL: Lead and antimony fin keel, stainless steel bolted and faired to hull sole. INTERNAL FITOUT: Galley sink with pressure cold water faucet, ice chest, chart table, 60 litre stainless steel water tank and space for stove. Enclosed head with TMC electric toilet, basin with cold water & pressure marine hand shower. ENGINE: Low Hours Nanni/Kubota 21hp, three cyclinder diesel, electric start and fresh water cooling through a heat exchanger. 65 litre stainless steel diesel tank. DRIVE: Shaft drive to 16x12 "flexi-fold" folding propeller. SAILS: Dacron mainsail - some rust stain but holds it shape well Genoas - Mylar/kevlar No1 and No2 - Dacron No3 - in good condition Spinnakers - 3/4 OZ yellow standard & 3/4 OZ white masthead RIG: 7/8 fractional rig with aluminium mast tapered above hounds, 2 single swept-back spreaders, forestay, upper and lower shrouds and adjustable backstay
