Built in 2006 by Auriga Yachts in Brittany France, designed by BatKare, Naval Architects as an open concept high-performance ocean-racing trimaran. TANTRUM has Full carbon hulls, beams and Mast, she was initially built to compete in shorthanded races like the Route de Rhum.
Multi Purpose - Race or Cruise
Her current owners purchased her in 2019 and have professionally converted Tantrum into a fast offshore racer-cruiser with a modest but comfortable interior.

Remove some of the gear and she is a HGHLY competitive performance racing trimaran.

REFITTED 2020 to 2022

She was fully refitted in 2020-22 and includes a host of new gear, such as new cruising mainsail (2023), new Yanmar 3GM diesel, sail drive and Gori prop. In 2021, Tantrum also had her carbon mast refurbished, including repaint and new running rigging.

Her cruising mods comprise new water and fuel tanks, and new North sails in 2021, including a new Jib on furler and a top-down furling Asymmetric sail. She also features a Cel-fi Go range extender and Iridium Go Sat phone, new solar panels, lithium batteries and some new safety equipment.

Fast Passage-maker

Tantrum is able to sail speeds well above 10 knots on all points of sail in just as little as 10 knots of breeze. It's definitely an advantage when you can be both fast, safe and comfortable sailing across an ocean.

With a beam of 10m, the nets give the crew living space to have fun and bring all the toys. They also provide a strong and safe platform to make a seaworthy boat that has been tested in the harsh seas of Brittany/France.
