Riviera 3300 Flybridge Under Offer

The following is from the current owner who is the third owner. It will give you an idea of the maintenance background.

I am a registered Diesel mechanic (IAME), Engineering UTS Sydney, plumbing trade registered, Electrical trade registered - among other things. I do not do anything by halves. I design, repair, and modify machinery, hydraulics for maximum reliability. I have gone through all the boat systems, and all were serviced, repaired and / or modified by myself a matter of course. If there are areas, I am not knowledgeable or confident with such as fiberglass or if hull penetrations are involved, I leave this to the experts. Otherwise, all other modifications and maintenance carried out on LT556N since I purchased her in July 2016 have been done by me. (Except propeller shaft replacement 2018)

Engine Maintenance:
Engines serviced (by me) every July with Castrol Super RX40. Baldwin, Mann or Fleetguard oil filters.
Engine Fuel filters (< 10 micron) changed every July with Baldwin, Mann or Fleetguard.
Raycor filters (30 Micron) changed every July with genuine Parker 30 elements.
2 x fuel lift pumps July 2020
2 x rebuilt turbochargers. 2 x CHRA VSR balanced. Machined new turbine bores from 4140 steel. Shrink fitted in housing & profiled to match blade contours. Boost pressures are within 1 Kpa throughout RPM range
Turbo boost hoses replaced with silicone items
Engine valve clearances set at 1500 hours - checked during Nov 2022 service.

Transmission:
Hurth / ZF63a Filter screens replaced when first purchased.
Hydraulic oil found in good condition. Oil changed to Valvoline MaxLife Full Synthetic ATF. Changed annually.
Coupling alignment checked annually.

Engine Cooling System Maintenance:
All engine cooling hoses were replaced with new heavy-duty items. All cooling system O rings were replaced with genuine Cummins items. All hose clamps were replaced with extra heavy duty wide band 316 stainless steel items.
The Engine cooling system is flushed every two years
Anodes replaced 6 monthly
The heat exchangers are serviced annually with individual tubes cleaned with. 177 air rifle brushes.
At 5 yearly intervals the heat exchangers are removed then ultrasonically cleaned and pressure tested - Nov 2021.
Engine cooling is filled with distilled water mixed with 30% Nulon coolant.

Engine and Boat Data:
NMEA 2000 network backbone and drop cables throughout boat
Actisense EMU-1 Engine Analogue to Digital signal converter installed
Actisense NMEA 2000 network backbone balanced power insertion module
Engine temperature gauge / N2K sender units tested and calibrated for accuracy
Engine over temperature alarm senders replaced with new items
NMEA 2000 engine running temperature sensors replaced
Engine oil pressure gauge sensors replaced and calibrated
NMEA 2000 Tacho readings accurate to < 1% to permit accurate engine speed synchronization
Twin pickup temperature programmable watchdog alarm - for added protection against engine / gearbox overheating
1 x Actisense EMU-1 analogue to N2K data converter
1 x Actisense dual N2K network feed
2 x Rockwell magnetic flywheel pickups to provide data to EMU-1 tachometer ports
1 x Lowrance HDS 12 gen 3 display
1 x Lowrance medium/high frequency chirp transducer and fairing
2 x Lowrance EP-90R engine boost pressure sensors
2 x Lowrance EP-90R seawater cooling system pressure sensors
1 x IR Video camera in engine room. Can be displayed on HDS 12 or E120

Raymarine E120 (Software updated to latest version (V5.59). E120 Originally used as the primary chart / radar, now used primarily as digital engine / boat systems data/alarm indications, also for radar & as back up chart plotter.
1 x Lowrance HDS 12 Gen 3 Primary chart and sounder display.
1 x Lowrance Mid / High transducer and fairing.

Safety and Communications:
1 x GME VHF radio
1 x GME VHF antenna
1 x GME 27 MHZ radio
1 x GME 27 MHZ antenna
1 x GME AM/FM antenna
1 x GME GPS emergency location beacon

Sundry, Internal / External:
All lights internal / external replaced with LED
Engine room bilge pump replaced March 22
Stern bilge pump replaced March 22
All top clears replaced Nov 21
Serviced / painted anchor windlass.
Replaced anchor windlass up / down solenoids with heavy duty items

Sanitation:
Toilet seals, impeller & macerator blades replaced
Replaced all sanitation hoses with anti-odour specialist sanitation hoses - double 316 clamps.
Fitted activated charcoal filter to grey water holding tank vent line
Holding tank capacity 100L

Potable Water:
Re-routed and secured hot/cold water pressure supply tubes and checked all connections for tightness.
Fitted 1 x domestic water system pressure accumulator
Domestic Hot Water System heat exchanger is supplied from the Starboard engine. For maintenance or in the event of HWS failure two ball valves have been fitted to the Starboard engine cooling system to permit isolation of HWS. This will allow the starboard engine to function in the event of a HWS heat exchanger failure.

2 x Starboard start / house batteries N200 industrial heavy - duty July 2021
1 x port start / windlass battery - Exide HD Marine N150 July 2020
2 x Bosch 120 Amp HD alternators. Starboard alternator regulator disabled to allow Stirling external marine regulator integration.
1 x Stirling external alternator regulator with alternator & battery temperature sensors fitted to starboard / house battery bank

Solar / Battery Charge Management:
1 x Victron solar charge/battery management module & display - not yet installed.
1 x Victron BM702 battery monitor
1 x Victron Bluetooth module

Entertainment:
1 x Fusion stereo Bluetooth module
4 x Fusion AM702 marine zone amplifiers
1 x Subwoofer
1 x LCD 22" Display screen.

Exhaust risers, shower outlets:
Custom made from schedule 10,316 stainless steel industrial pipe. Exhaust shower outlets - orifices are calculated to flow sufficient water at idle RPM to keep exhaust system cool, as well as sufficient flow with extra capacity at high RPM
New 5" Lloyds exhaust mixer hoses fitted
2 x 15psi header tank caps
Cooling system pressure tested to 15psi
Engine coolant low point drain ball valves
2 x isolation cocks installed to starboard engine HWS to allow engine cooling system isolation from HWS.
All hoses from the starboard engine to the hot water system
replaced with heavy duty items
2 x new gearbox heat exchangers
1 x new engine sea water pump. Other rebuilt to factory specifications - SKF bearings
2 x engine coolant pumps Cummins genuine
2 x engine thermostats 84 degrees - Cummins genuine
2 x serpentine belt tensioners - Cummins genuine
2 x serpentine belts
2 x Idler pulley bearings. Modified idler pulley fasteners to prevent fracture failure.
All drive pulleys aligned to < 1mm

Stern Gear / Steering:
Top & lower helm pumps rebuilt with quality updated O rings & polypack seals
2 x Buck Algonquin Stern tube hoses
8 x 316 Stern tube hose clamps - double clamped
Stuffing boxes cleaned / repacked with Teflon packing.
2 x engine alignment Oct 2021
Main transom anode replaced Oct 2022.
All earth bond wiring upgraded to heavy gauge July 2019.
Bonding added to rudder posts
1 x balanced steering ram 7" stroke 118cc fitted Nov 21.
Steering ram 1/2' spherical rod ends replaced Nov 21
Rudder tie bar spherical rod 3/8' ends replaced Nov 21

Calculated and redesigned steering cylinder ram mounting location & ram / tiller arms / tie bar location to reduce mechanical stress on steering cylinder ram & to correct stern gear / rudder geometry. Maximum rudder angle increased from 30 to 37 degrees.
Tie bar length modified to allow 1259mm tie bar rod end centres = 1.5-degree rudder toe in (toe in at leading edge)

Steering system hydraulic oil flushed & replaced with 2 parts low viscosity ATF to 1 part Diesel fuel = hydraulic viscosity ~12 centistokes as per original Hynautics steering manufacturer specification

Antifouled mid 2023 with the Hull to topsides polished and detailed.
2 x new log shaft bearings fitted Oct 2021
2 x new cutlass bearings fitted Oct 2021
Rudder glands repacked Oct 2021
Tie bar length adjusted to 1259mm eye to eye centres = 1.5-degree rudder toe in at leading edge.
Props tested for balance & shafts tested for runout Oct 2021= all good.
Prop speed applied to props and shafts
