2009 Nordhavn 86
Pirate Radio is one of the finest Nordhavn 86s built, she was built to explore the world in style and comfort. What makes this vessel unique is the upper master stateroom just aft of the pilothouse. This allows for beautiful unobstructed views from the upper level. Another positive side effect of the upper master stateroom layout is the private aft deck accessed from the master cabin. This is accessed from two large doors with full height glass which allows for wonderful natural light in this stateroom. In place of the of master stateroom there are two split cabins with ensuite heads. The starboard main level guest cabin has a queen bunk with ample storage. Portlights allow for good natural lights as well and great ventilation. The port side main level guest cabin has a full bunk, nice storage as well as portlights for natural light and good ventilation. Down one flight of stairs are two additional VIP guest staterooms. Both staterooms have ensuite heads with beautiful stonework. The starboard VIP stateroom has a queen berth while the port VIP stateroom has two single berths that are on a track system that allow for two separate twin berths or one single queen berth. Her overall size and volume are comparable to yachts of a much larger size, offering the use of five staterooms plus crew quarters and Captain's cabin.
Pirate Radio was built to the specifications, at the time, of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) "Guide for Building and Classing Motor Pleasure Yachts". However, the vessel has not been ABS certified to be in class. This means she has all the proper equipment, plumbing, electrical and all else has been upgraded to meet this requirement.

Salon:
Going forward from the aft deck through large glass doors, you enter the expansive salon. You are greeted by two brand new white leather sofas, new leather ottomans and a gorgeous tufted leather lounge chair. The interior designers really made this a great area for entertaining guests. The entire salon has wood flooring throughout for a very clean and elegant look. The joinery work throughout the salon is in Maple, complimented by Burled Walnut. The views from any seat in the salon are exceptional, and is made possible by extensive port and starboard windows. Behind every sofa and throughout the salon is more storage than you will know what to do with. This is truly a special area on this vessel.
Dining:
The dining area seats eight comfortably at a beautifully designed maple wood in-laid table. The overhead maple wood feature and isolated overhead lighting above the table really separates this area from the rest of the salon area. From casual dining to formal dining this area does it all. Just forward of the dining area is a raised bar area with three leather wrapped fixed barstools and a pass through to the galley, a wonderful place for appetizers or to just sit and watch the chef work his or her magic in the galley. To starboard of the formal dining on the main deck is a small niche for an owner's office, with a great view.
Master Stateroom:
The master stateroom on Pirate Radio is situated aft of the pilothouse. The king size berth is center in the stateroom with vast windows to each side and massive glass doors aft which lead to a private exterior deck. This stateroom has the best views by far onboard Pirate Radio, where you can enjoy unobstructed views while underway or at anchor. If the views aren't enough, there is a drop TV from the overhead at the foot of the master berth. The upper location of this cabin really allows for the ultimate in privacy, because you are up one level from your guests and as far away from the machinery areas as possible. The full ensuite head features an expansive shower, separate toilet room and his and her sinks, lined with impressive stone work. Both the master head and stateroom are loaded with storage areas, from numerous hanging lockers, cabinets, drawers and medicine lockers. Just aft of the master is a private owner's deck area with ample room for lounge chairs.
Guest Staterooms:
Depending on the number of your crew there could be three or four guest cabins onboard Pirate Radio. Two steps down from the main deck is the port guest/captain forward and the starboard guest stateroom. The larger one to starboard will comfortably accommodate important guests. The starboard guest cabin on this main level is a bit smaller, but great for children or grandchildren. The lower deck has two additional VIP staterooms port and starboard (the two VIP staterooms can be rearranged as either two singles in each cabin or king beds). All guest cabins have ensuite heads. In the lower hallway just forward of the watertight door is a laundry/utility room with a full-size washer and dryer, storage and freezer space. This watertight door also keeps the noise in this area down to a minimum.
The entertainment system includes:
KVH Sat TV

Crew Area:

Galley:
